Refreshed and updated with James Hardie® fiber cement siding
The old synthetic stucco was removed and replaced with fiber cement siding in the HardieShingle line. This line from James Hardie Building Products includes several types of shingle style siding. Here we used the sleek Straight Edge Shake style with a Cedarmill finish. The Cedarmill finish gives it a natural wood texture to closely resemble real cedar shakes. The straight edge style gives it nice clean lines and a tailored look. The color used is a James Hardie ColorPlus® technology finish in Timber Bark. It’s a luxurious grayish brown color that’s designed to last. The ColorPlus technology finish is a highly durable baked on color that is long lasting and easy to care for. Under the siding and before applying the Hardie wrap, we installed insulation for optimal efficiency. The shingle siding was paired with smooth Hardie trim in the Navajo Beige color. This was installed for the siding trim, window sills, and frieze boards. The design was polished with some decorative corbels at miters on the front of the home.
Before & After — Timber Frame to Modern Shake
Only the upper portion with the stucco had new siding installed. The lower portion of the home and the soffit and fascia retained it’s existing wood siding. A little bit of new siding made a really big difference!
