Choosing an exterior color can be a difficult decision. Green houses are so beautiful, especially when it’s James Hardie’s Mountain Sage. It’s unfortunate that you don’t see very many green houses. More commonly, we’ll see neutrals like whites, beiges and grays. We also get many requests for blues. We’re so excited to see this color come to life. It helps to see a color in action while planning a renovation, so we love to show off examples like this one.
This home is located in Naperville Illinois. We installed James Hardie Plank Siding on the entire home in the color Mountain Sage. Mountain Sage is a nature inspired green color. It’s a medium tone that pairs well with natural wood, beige, white, and other light neutral colors.
A Green Upgrade in more ways than 1
We replaced the home’s windows with Alside Vinyl Windows. These are low maintenance highly energy efficient windows, making them a green window choice. The Alside windows installed are of the Mezzo line, which have double-paned low-e Climatech glass for maximum efficiency. We replaced the front door with an energy efficient door by ProVia. The door is a Provia Legacy series with a rustic bronze color exterior. The entire roof on the home was also replaced the whole roof with all new GAF Timberline HD shingles. GAF shingles are highly durable and last a very long time. The old roof was recycled. The trim on the home is also made by James Hardie in Sail Cloth color. James Hardie siding is a natural fiber cement composite that is very long lasting, and it comes pre-finished with low voc baked on colors.
